Honoring Our Assisted Living Team
“Caring is Essential” was the theme of this year’s National Assisted Living Week, and that truly describes the role held by our much-loved and much-valued assisted living team at the Summit.
The National Center for Assisted Living sponsors the annual weeklong celebration, which it describes as a way to “recognize the role of assisted living in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities.”
During the week of September 13-19, Kline Galland celebrated the Summit team with several fun events, including “Bunches of Munches,” specialty coffee and donuts, and ice cream sundaes with just about every ice cream topping you could imagine.
“Essential care from essential people” is a good way to describe what the Summit staff represent to our residents, day in and day out. These team members provide care and companionship 24 hours a day, ensuring that the residents never lack a human connection. This has been particularly true during the COVID-19 pandemic, when residents have been isolated from their families and loved ones.
Our goal in assisted living is to support residents’ independence and dignity in an active and caring environment, and we could not do it without the hard work and compassion of these caregivers. They have truly been healthcare heroes to our residents, their families, our community and our entire organization.
We feel very blessed to have the wonderful professionals we do on Team Summit. We celebrate them not just during National Assisted Living Week, but every day of the year!
