Meet Erwin Esguerra, Home Health Registered Nurse
Have you ever wondered what a Home Health Registered Nurse (RN) does? At Kline Galland Home Health the RN is a critical team member who helps our patients enjoy a faster recovery and better health.
A Home Health RN evaluates patients in their home environment to determine required services. They prepare a plan of care based on their clinical assessment of the patient and the home environment. The Home Health RN serves as the patient’s advocate by providing information regarding the their care to the patient and their family. Their goal is to keep the patient in their home environment and lessen the chance for hospital readmission.
Erwin is an RN and has been with Kline Galland for 6 years total and in Home Health for 2 years. Before joining the Home Health team, Erwin was a nurse at Kline Galland Home and then became Staff Developer and Infection Control Nurse. When he needed more flexibility in his schedule with a growing family he transferred to our Home Health program and has been a wonderful addition.
Erwin writes: I wasn’t sure I would last last one month due to the challenges of adjusting to a new work environment. Now, nearly six years later, I am grateful for my journey to where I am at in my career. A journey that has allowed me to meet many hard working, dependable, and genuinely caring people from across Kline Galland Home, the Summit, and Community Based Services (CBS). A journey as a nurse working the floor, to management, and now serving residents in our community.
I am thankful to be a part of my team at CBS. A team from all walks-of-life, but with a single mission of providing exceptional care in a growing work environment of home health. A team that recognizes and rewards hard work, values staff input, and depends on the clinicians to succeed. At times I feel like I’m working for a secret society because of the high quality staff members in my team, the flexibility of my job that helps tremendously with my hectic work-life balance, and the type of work we’re doing that assists those that would otherwise go uncared for.
Not only do I recommend Kline Galland and all of their resources as a place of employment, I would recommend them as well for my family and friends who may need their services for health care.
In his spare time, Erwin is the Soccer Coach for his daughter’s team and loves spending time with his beautiful family.
